Gainesville Greens (pictured)
-- 12-story, 134 condo unit mixed-use tower located downtown.
Expected 2008.
University Corners -- Two mixed-use towers, one 8-story and the other 7-stories. This project has been mired in drama since its beginning.
Midtown Project -- Abandoned 2005, two 26-story mixed-use condo towers. Gainesville passed a 15-story height
restriction because of this project.
Holiday Inn Project -- dates back to 1998, but nothing has moved forward since then, but apparently the project has not been abandoned.
Existing:
Beatty Towers -- UF dorms, two buildings, 1970s area style.
Lakeshore Towers -- 12-story apartment tower located in the Archer Road area. In 2006, the new owner/developer stated plans
for a second tower, which would be condos, and to convert the existing tower to condos.
Seagle Building -- aka Dixie Hotel, completed 1937, 11-story residential building.
Took 11 years to finish this tower. WPA
funds helped complete the project and it was never used as
a hotel.
